Welcome

- Dick Bartels -

Dick is the owner of
THE CABINET SHOP.
He has been a cabinet professional in the Greater Phoenix, Arizona, Metropolitan Area
since 1991. After working for three of Arizona's
larger cabinet companies as a Field SuperintI am now a
dealer where we feature a
full line of fine cabinetry in various hardwoods, styles, stains and
lacquer finishes. We sell, deliver and
install cabinets for your home or office. Check out our
Cabinet Shop for details of how to contact us for pricing and to
set up an appointment to come to your home or office for a FREE
NO OBLIGATION appointment.
I am also the owner of
(YOTTS)
here in
Phoenix, Arizona. Our motto here
at YOTTS is "Heirloom quality
craftsmanship at a price you can afford". We strive to give you the
best in quality and craftsmanship at very reasonable prices. The clocks
you find here feature the finest solid hardwoods with matching
cabinet grade veneer plywood backs. The movements are solid
brass with no plastic bushings which are often found in many store-bought
clocks. Your clock will not only be a thing of timeless beauty but will be
of heirloom quality craftsmanship. You can rest assured that your
grandkids can proudly pass it on to their
children and grandchildren.

Clocks at ye Olde tic-tock Shoppe range in sizes from stately Grandfather Clocks to beautiful and less
expensive desk, mantel and wall clocks. Many clocks feature luxuriously
sounding movements that chime every fifteen minutes and gong the hour. Some of the
more elegant Grandfather
Clocks feature a triple chiming system that plays your choice of the Westminster,
Whittington or saint Michael chimes and have a night silencing
lever.

We also have a
very unique line of specialty items. Our exclusive Old West
Ghost Town Gallery blends together
my passion for four-wheeling around
Arizona in search of our
rich old west history which includes Ghost Town hunting. I build
miniature old ghost town building fronts and put quartz clock movements in
some of them. You can purchase these separately or in sets with or without
the quartz clock movements. Part of this Ghost Town Gallery are our Stagecoach, Conestoga wagon, Miner's Wagon and Wagon
Wheel clocks.

Another long
time passion of our family has been taking our 4-wheel drive vehicles out into
Arizona's back roads and remote wilderness areas in search of Ghost Towns,
historical haunts, mining camps, stagecoach routes, Teamster's wagon roads, Pony
Express stops, Indian ruins and the like. We have not only enjoyed finding
many of these places but Dick has researched a lot of the history surrounding
the old places as well as learning about some of the tales of the colorful
characters who once lived, worked and played there in the years gone by.
comes to life as a result of this passion. No, we do not use actual
Stagecoaches on our tours. We use modern comfortable air
conditioned 4-wheel drive vehicles. We invite you to ride
along with us as we take you into the places where Arizona's Old
West history was made.

Dick started
making
grandfather clocks several years ago as a young pastor in
Pennsylvania and New York State selling them to help supplement his meager
income while he was the pastor of small town and country churches. Over time he added mantel, desk and wall sized clocks to his clock making ventures.
Dick went from
being a pastor to become the mission field builder in the country of Mali, West
Africa
under the direction of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. He is
still somewhat fluent in the West African tribal language of Bambara. This
is the mother tongue to which Alex Haley traced his ancestry in the book and TV series,
'ROOTS'.
Soon after Dick and his
family returned to the states after his missionary work he was
severely injured in an automobile accident. While waiting
for a road construction flagman his station wagon was run over
from behind by a semi tractor trailer and Dick became paralyzed
from the waist down for over two years.
As part of his rehabilitation
project Dick bought an Amish house without running water and electricity
in Northwestern Pennsylvania and slowly put in plumbing
and electricity. He also opened his own
clock shop and began making and selling clocks to the
Amish community as well as to the public.
Today,
in addition to his cabinet business,
Dick is revisiting his old hobby-turned-business of making and selling
clocks. in addition to making clocks he sells
factory made clocks as well as clock kits and supplies for the handyman do-it-yourselfer.
